Meet the Doctors
Dr. Chip Patterson, DMD
Dentist
Dr. Chip Patterson grew up in a dental family, helping out at his father’s dental office in Toccoa, and knew early on that he was passionate about dentistry. He attended Young Harris College and the University of Georgia before earning his dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He then completed a dental residency at the VA Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, where he pursued additional training in surgical techniques and implant placement.
Dr. Patterson brings a quick sense of humor, an energetic personality, and a fun atmosphere to the office. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Hinman Dental Society and enjoys continually learning, improving, and working on projects that help the practice grow.
Dr. Chip and Dr. Eleanor have four daughters: Avie, Ember, Leland, and Peyton. They love spending time with their girls and watching them grow.
Dr. Eleanor Patterson, DMD
Dentist
Dr. Eleanor Patterson believes great dentistry is about more than healthy teeth—it’s about making people feel genuinely cared for. Known for her calm demeanor, thoughtful communication, and attention to detail, Dr. Patterson enjoys helping patients feel at ease and empowered to make confident decisions about their oral health. She has strived to pursue an experience where advanced technology, exceptional clinical care, and genuine hospitality come together to provide a truly elevated dental experience.
Originally from North Alabama, Dr. Patterson earned her bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Alabama before receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2015. After practicing briefly in Birmingham, she and her husband, Dr. Chip Patterson, relocated to North Georgia, where they began caring for patients here in Clayton.
Dr. Riyaz Jiwani, DMD
Dentist
Dr. Riyaz Jiwani completed his undergraduate studies at Emory University before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He brings six years of private practice experience to Patterson Family Smiles and is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their care.
Dr. Jiwani is an active member of several dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Hinman Dental Society. Outside the office, he enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Dr. Ken Hutchinson, DMD
Dentist
Dr. Ken Hutchinson earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta. He later served on faculty as a clinical instructor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation and Restorative Dentistry, and has been awarded Fellowship status in both the Academy of General Dentistry and the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Hutchinson enjoyed a long and successful career in private practice in Atlanta for 30 years. Patterson Family Smiles is proud that he now calls Clayton home and brings his experience, knowledge, and steady presence to the practice. Outside the office, Dr. Hutchinson is an avid golfer and guitar collector/player. He enjoys spending time in the North Georgia mountains with his family.
Dr. Seth Justus, DMD
Dentist
Dr. Seth Justus is a Rabun County native who is excited to return home and serve the community where he grew up. He attended Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School before going on to Clemson University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. He then completed his dental training at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Seth Justice is passionate about caring for patients in his hometown and building lasting relationships in the community. Outside the office, he loves spending time outdoors, hunting, playing golf, and spending time with his beautiful girlfriend, Lindsay.
